๐ŸŒฑ Beginner Guide

New Players

Just started playing You vs Homer? Here's everything you need for your first few rounds.

Step 1: Learn the Basics

  • Use WASD to move, Space to jump
  • Shift to sprint (save this for emergencies!)
  • C to crouch โ€” reduces your profile when hiding
  • E to open doors and interact with objects

Step 2: Understand Rounds

  • Each round lasts 175 seconds (โ‰ˆ3 minutes)
  • One player is Homer (hunter), rest are Barts (hiders)
  • Setup Phase (30s): Barts disperse while Homer is boxed in spawn
  • Active Hunt (145s): Homer hunts, Barts survive
  • Sudden Death (final 30s): Nametags visible through walls!

๐ŸŽฏ Your First 10 Rounds

  1. Play Springfield Neighborhood or Mall โ€” easiest maps with many hiding spots
  2. Find a spot with cover on 2+ sides and multiple escape routes
  3. Stay crouched and DON'T move when Homer is nearby
  4. If spotted, run in zigzags and use terrain/furniture for cover
  5. After a few rounds, check the Hiding Spots Guide for expert spots

๐Ÿง’ Bart Survival Guide

Intermediate

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Map Knowledge

Learn every map's layout and hiding spots. Know at least 3 good spots per map. The more spots you know, the more unpredictable you become.

๐ŸŽญ Skin Selection

Match your skin to the map. Use dark skins (Emo, Ghost) on indoor/dark maps. Use 2D Bart anywhere โ€” invisible from the side at any distance.

๐Ÿ”„ Rotation Strategy

Never hide in the same spot twice. After being found, move to the opposite side of the map. Good Homers memorize where they found you.

๐Ÿ‘‚ Audio Awareness

Wear headphones! Homer's footsteps are audible. Listen for him approaching and time your movements when he's walking away.

๐Ÿƒ Escape Planning

Always have 2+ escape routes from your hiding spot. A spot with only one exit is a death trap. Know where you'll run before Homer arrives.

โฑ๏ธ Clock Awareness

Think about the timer. In the last minute, Homer gets desperate and checks randomspots. Stay calm and resist the urge to move late-game.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿฆฒ Homer Hunting Guide

Hunter Role

๐Ÿงน Systematic Clearing

Don't run around randomly. Clear one section of the map completely before moving to the next. Work in a pattern โ€” left to right, top to bottom.

๐Ÿง  Psychology

Think like a Bart. Where would YOU hide? Beginners hide in obvious spots (closets, under tables). Pros use elevated and dark corners.

๐Ÿƒ Chase Tactics

When you spot a Bart, cut off their escape routes rather than chasing directly. Use your knowledge of the map to predict where they'll run.

๐Ÿ“ Memory Game

Remember where you found Barts in previous rounds. Players often return to their "favorite" spots. Check those spots first next round.

๐Ÿ† Advanced Movement Mastery

Pro Skills

Survival in high-tier lobbies requires more than just hiding. You must master Roblox physics exploits and movement tech to escape competent Homers.

๐Ÿงฑ Wall-Hopping Essential

The Concept: Exploiting Roblox's physics engine to jump higher than normal by flicking your camera against a wall mid-jump.

Step-by-Step:

  1. Enable Shift Lock: Go to Roblox Settings and turn "Shift Lock Switch" ON. Press Shift to lock camera.
  2. Position: Stand facing parallel to a flat wall.
  3. The Jump: Jump and move into the wall.
  4. The Flick: At the peak of your jump, quickly flick your camera about 45-90 degrees away from the wall and then back purely with your mouse.
  5. Repeat: Time your next jump immediately as you land the "flick."

Practice Spot: The garage wall at The Simpsons House. Use it to reach the roof without the ladder.

๐Ÿ“ Corner Clipping Glitch

The Concept: Forcing your character model through thin walls or corners to enter out-of-bounds ("Void") areas or secret rooms.

How to Execute:

  1. Find a thin corner (glass panes or door frames work best).
  2. Turn your camera away from the corner.
  3. Use the Laugh emote (type /e laugh) or simply force your camera into the wall while zooming in.
  4. Shift-lock and turn quickly to clip through.

Top Spot: The "Crate Gap" in Moe's Tavern. Allows you to hide inside the stacked crates.

๐Ÿชœ High-Ground Looping Strategy

The Concept: Using verticality to break line of sight and force Homer to waste time climbing.

The Loop:

  • Stand clear at the top of a ladder/ledge (e.g., Krusty Krab sign).
  • Wait for Homer to start climbing up.
  • Jump OFF right before he reaches the top.
  • While falling, air-strafe to a landing spot or different floor.
  • If Homer jumps down, immediately climb back up. Repeat until he gives up.

๐Ÿ‘ป 2D Skin Exploits Meta

The Concept: Using 2D skins (like Paper Bart) to become nearly invisible from specific angles.

Tactics:

  • Side Profile: Turn your character 90 degrees to the wall. Your model becomes a flat line, blending into textures.
  • Shadow Hiding: 2D skins cast weird shadows. Hide inside dark props where 3D characters would clip out.
  • Hitbox: The hitbox is still standard size, but visual detection is much harder for Homer.
